This book is about many things. It’s a book about our family, a season of suffering, a season of uncertainty. It’s a book about cancer, fostering and adoption, and the good and perfect gift of the local church. Most importantly, this is a book about God. This is our story of walking with the Lord through the most challenging season of our life and how we found him present and faithful.

We want to let you in on some things we know now that we didn’t know before. We learned the local church, the body of Christ, the family of God is important not just in theory, but in practicality. We understand our obedience to God doesn’t guarantee an easy or painless life. We are more aware that things are not what they seem, and God is always working behind the scenes for the good of those who love him.

The things we have learned through these experiences have molded and shaped our relationship with God; our relationship with him is different because of our journey. For example, it is easier for us to see suffering as an opportunity for God to make his presence known and for us to grow in faith and endurance. We seek faith in God’s goodness and his promises over fear and control. And most importantly, we believe God’s nature is compassionate, merciful, slow to anger, abounding in love, forgiving, and just so we filter everything through that lens.

We hope you will feel comfortable joining us on this journey. Our hope in sharing this story is that you will not only learn from our mistakes, but also find peace for the times you feel like your world is spinning out of control. We pray that you find hope in the assurance that God has not forgotten you. We want you to know that it is okay, and even Biblical to mourn and dance at the same time. We anticipate that you will feel a renewed love for and dependence on the Lord’s Church as his hands and feet on Earth. Oh, and hopefully you’ll get a few laughs too.

Once purchased you will be email an invite to download the book in podcast form.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Always Endure and Riverside Christian Academy.
