Lessons From People Who Motivate

1. Imogene Gray: Mrs Imogene is 104 and has lost her sight. She spends most of her days in the bed at a nursing home. In the past couple of weeks, I have had the opportunity to visit with her. As some of us were leaving a visit the other day, she told one of the people in our group how she had been discussing the Bible with someone and how she believed they were nearing the decision to be baptized into Christ. Many times in life we become to busy for where our own feet are! Ms. Imogene even at a point in life that is frustrating, and what most would call depressing sees it as an opportunity to impact people for Jesus! What is our excuse?

 2. Ella Sartain Laxson & Lajuan Laxson have become very special to me! They have both faced immense challenges and handled them with the utmost strength. Over the past few weeks, Ms LaJuan fell, and due to her injuries, she had to take some time to rest in bed. Her response to all this: “I’m going to miss worship & Bible class!” From what I was told, there was immense frustration in that statement.  What a commitment to her relationship with God!

 3. Jackson & Emma Moore: A few weeks ago, Emmie and I went to watch a volleyball game, and Jackson and Emma came over to talk. While supporting their friends, they allowed Emmie to jump on them, crawl on them, talk with them, and play games with them. Jackson and Emma made such an impact on Emmie in

the hour they spent with her that when they left, Emmie crawled up in my lap and started crying. She looked at me and said, “Dad, do you know what it’s like to lose a friend?” She kept saying I miss them, repeatedly with tears in her eyes.

I hope you take the time to give someone your full attention this week to make the impact that these two did in my daughter's life! I hope you can see the encouragement that I received and also take some of these lessons and allow them to motivate you!

There are a lot of things that every generation can teach us and I hope you will take the time to see the lessons that you can learn from everyone that God puts you around this week!
