So many sunrises

As you journey on life’s way.

Games in which you will compete

So cherish every victory

Learn from each defeat.

Times to hold your children tight

To your surprise you’ll wake up one day

And they’ve grown up overnight.

You only get so many—

Visits with those you love.

So soak in every single moment

Each one is a gift from God above.

You only get so many—

Times to experience feeling—

Times to laugh and times to cry

All moments of God’s healing.

You only get so many—

Moments to sit and ponder

To take in God’s creation

The world with all its wonder.

You only get so many—

Sunsets—that’s what they say

So do all you can to fully embrace

The gift they call Today.
