Appreciation
I’m not sure why it’s so hard to say it, but it seems from the dawn of creation mankind has struggled with the small, but important gesture, of showing gratitude. Most of the time it seemed the children of Israel were doing just the opposite. Instead of soaking up their blessings and letting God know their thanksgiving, they were griping about what they didn’t have. There is a story in the gospel where Jesus heals a group of 10 men and you might remember that only one returns to offer his thanks. Paul, in his 13 letters mentions some form of gratitude at least 34 times.
I’ve heard people say before, “I just don’t know how to say thank you.” Well, if you have ever felt that way then maybe these prompts can help:
Thanks.
Gracias!
Thank you.
Danke Schon.
Much Obliged.
So Appreciated.
You are amazing.
You are so loved.
You are a blessing!
Your gift was perfect.
Thanks for your support.
You really helped me feel at ease.
I just wanted to write and say thanks.
What you did really warmed my heart.
I appreciate the way you always step up.
I cannot even begin to tell you how much that meant.
We give thanks to God always for you all! - 2 Thess. 1:2
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you! - Phil. 1:3
However you have to say it and to whomever you need to say it, let me encourage you to take some time this week to say thanks. Certainly there is no one more worthy of your gratitude that the one who gave you all things to enjoy.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. - 1 Cor. 15:57
